Jalil Sultanov is awarded for contribution to preserve history of Japanese internees and deepening understanding of Japan in Uzbekistan.
The Embassy said Sultanov contributed to deepening mutual understanding between Japan and Uzbekistan via preserving history of Japanese, living in Uzbekistan in 1940s.
In May 1998, Sultanov opened Museum of Japanese Internees due to own resources. He collects materials and objects, related to the activities of Japanese internee, who came to Uzbekistan after World War II.
