Director of MICA Anvar Nasirov addresses Uzbekistan – Korean Expert Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Director of International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) Anvar Nasirov addressed the session “Uzbekistan – Korea: Comprehensive political dialogue as the basis of a special strategic partnership”.

He noted that enhancing and deepening of dialogue between Uzbekistan and South Korea, which dates back to the distant 90s of the last century, had a positive impact on all areas of interaction between the two countries.

– In recent years, our countries have created a strong political and economic partnership”, Anvar Nasirov noted. – The New Northern Policy implemented by our Korean partners over the past years undoubtedly has a positive effect on the comprehensive interaction of the parties.

Thanks to the political will and the established trusting relations between the leadership of South Korea and the leaders of the Central Asian countries, the dynamics of interaction in all areas of cooperation are steadily growing. The existing close historical and cultural ties between the countries are being strengthened.

I would like to note that at the present stage, Korea has developed close relations with all the Central Asian states and a special strategic partnership with Uzbekistan.

Regular dialogue at various levels, active economic cooperation and investment activities, rich cultural-humanitarian collaboration have become important components of close ties between the parties.

The launch in 2007 of the “Central Asia + Korea” format” is also important. It provides the Korean side with the opportunity to interact with all Central Asian states in a multilateral format.

Anvar Nasirov also noted that the forum contributes to strengthening mutual trust and intensification of multilateral cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
