Director of Drug Safety Center Appointed Deputy Chair of GHWP
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The 29th Annual Congress and Technical Committee meeting of the Global Harmonization Working Party (GHWP) on medical device requirements was held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The event was attended by Alisher Temirov, Director of the Pharmaceutical Product Safety Center under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
The congress focused on key issues in global medical device policy, including the implementation of new regulatory standards, improvement of registration and certification procedures, effective market oversight, and the harmonization of technical regulations.
During the formation of the GHWP leadership, Alisher Temirov was nominated and unanimously approved as Deputy Chair for Regulatory Authorities, reflecting international recognition of Uzbekistan’s healthcare reforms under the leadership of the President.
The congress also discussed the 2026 meeting of GHWP Technical Committee leaders, and it was agreed that this prestigious event will be held in Tashkent.
GHWP is a leading global platform that establishes unified approaches to medical device registration, risk assessment, certification, market control, and quality management.
The organization includes over 30 countries, including Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, and Malaysia. Uzbekistan became a full member at the 2024 congress in Kuala Lumpur.
