Diplomats Discuss Protection of Uzbek Citizens’ Rights in Russia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 January, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev held a meeting with the Ambassador of Russia, Alexey Yerkhov, the press service of the Uzbek MFA said.
During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens working in the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan’s general consuls in various Russian regions, while the Russian side was represented by officials from the consular department, migration services, and law enforcement agencies.
The Uzbek delegation emphasized the fundamental importance of preventing any forms of infringement on the rights and human dignity of Uzbek citizens, including both law-abiding workers and individuals who have violated migration regulations, during inspections and enforcement operations.
Both sides confirmed the necessity of holding regular consular consultations and bilateral meetings to continuously improve cooperation and strengthen interaction between the two countries.
