Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Ayritom border customs post in Termez district.
This post is the only checkpoint on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. Trade and economic relations with this country and the states of South Asia as a whole are dynamically developing. In this regard, the customs post was modernized. Halls for passport and customs control have been built.
The head of state got acquainted with the conditions created in these new complexes.
The customs post is equipped with the latest technology within the framework of the "Digital Uzbekistan - 2030" program. Thus, a Z-Portal inspection complex with the function of scanning vehicles from three sides has been installed. Due to the minimal radiation level, scanning does not require the driver to get out of the car. All this makes it possible to inspect up to 200 vehicles per hour. At other customs posts in the country, the throughput is 20 vehicles per hour. In general, the border customs post can serve up to 2 thousand passengers per day.
- In the current conditions, this is a good innovation. But the world changes hourly. It's time to go to the next level. Along with the situation center, there should be a think tank here. New proposals are needed to increase economic efficiency and prevent risks, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
A unique feature of the " Ayritom " post is that it is capable of serving trains, vehicles and citizens at the same time. In order to speed up the checkpoint process and create convenience for users, the work is carried out according to the principle of "one window". To ensure security, Adani and Rapiscan digital solutions and a video surveillance system have been installed.
Here, the President answered questions from representatives of the media.
