Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The capital of Uzbekistan hosted an international scientific and practical conference "The development of diasporas in Central Asia is an important factor in sustainable development," Dunyo news agency reported. 

The organizers of this forum were the National University of Uzbekistan named after M. Ulugbek, the International Institute of Central Asia (MICA) and the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to MICA, over 100 representatives of scientific, academic and analytical institutions of the states of Central Asia, Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, Russia and other countries took part in the event. In particular, the representative offices of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Uzbekistan, the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President, the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Scientific Center for Strategic Studies of the IMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, the Institute of Asian Countries and Africa of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Russian State University for the Humanities attended in the event. 

This international conference is the 6th and is dedicated to the development of diasporas in Central Asia, as well as diasporology - a new branch of science in the social and humanitarian sphere.

The main purpose of the event was the consolidation of the scientific community of foreign countries in the study of various scientific, theoretical and methodological aspects in the field of diasporology, the study of the phenomenon of tolerance among the peoples of the region, the history and modern development of the diasporas of the peoples of Central Asia, their role in socio-economic and cultural life, experience " Uzbekistan model” of interethnic harmony and tolerance.

During the conference, scientific and academic reports were heard, practical measures were outlined, appropriate recommendations were developed to further strengthen cooperation and develop diasporology in the Central Asian region.
