Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the sidelines of the CIS Economic Council meeting in Uzbekistan, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev.

The discussions focused on key aspects of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, including the creation of favorable conditions for exporters and importers. This effort aligns with the task set by the heads of state to boost bilateral trade volumes.

Special emphasis was placed on streamlining and optimizing freight transportation between the countries, as well as Uzbekistan’s potential accession to the EAEU common customs transit system, which would enable more efficient movement of goods.

Overchuk and Khodjaev agreed to intensify dialogue between economic institutions and expert communities from both sides to explore opportunities for further liberalization of trade relations.
