Deputy Prime Minister speaks at International Labor Conference
Narbaeva noted that the priorities identified at ILO conferences are in line with the main areas of activity of the government and the tripartite partners of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations said.
Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale work is being done to further improve the social and labor sphere, ensure timely payment of wages, pensions and scholarships, as well as improve medical services for population and ensure gender equality in the world of work.
Tanzila Narbaeva thoroughly acquainted the participants with the "Strategy of actions for the five priority directions of the development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021", within the framework of which, in accordance with international standards, a number of serious amendments and additions to the current legislation are envisaged.
The participants were informed about ongoing work on developing of draft laws “On public service”, “On labor migration”, “On non-state organizations to promote employment of the population (recruitment agencies)”, etc.
“We support efforts of the ILO to implement the fundamental principles and rights at work. Uzbekistan will continue to support efforts to promote labour rights,” she said.
