Deputy Minister of Mining Industry of Uzbekistan Discusses Sector Investments with the EBRD

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 October 2025, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan U. Yusupov, together with senior officials of the ministry, held a meeting with a delegation from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) headed by Managing Director Jean-Marc Peterschmitt.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the results achieved in their cooperation, ongoing joint projects, and prospects for further collaboration.

Special attention was given to the new edition of the Law “On Subsoil,” which was adopted and entered into force last year, as well as to the development of regulatory acts based on the law.

The EBRD representatives emphasized that attracting investment into Uzbekistan’s mining sector, including financing specific projects, remains one of the Bank’s key priorities and contributes to the sustainable development of the industry.
