Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 11 August 2025, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Abidkhadjaev held a meeting with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The IMF delegation included Yannick Weil, Regional Public Financial Management and Fiscal Risk Advisor; Simona Pojar, Climate Change Public Financial Management Advisor; and IMF expert Jyoti Rahmon.

The discussion focused on the application of the Q-CRAFT (Quantitative Climate Risk Assessment Fiscal Tool) model to assess macroeconomic and fiscal risks associated with climate change.

It was noted that the use of this model will, in the long term, enable the analysis of the impact of various climate change scenarios on key macroeconomic and fiscal indicators, including GDP, budget deficit, and public debt.

Following the meeting, it was announced that a joint one-week seminar-training for ministry specialists will be organized, dedicated to working with the Q-CRAFT model and its application in analytical activities.
