Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 July, in the format of a video conference, a meeting was held between the deputy khokim of the city of Tashkent, head of the investment and foreign trade department, Sharof Rakhmanov, with the head of the regional office of KfW Bank in Central Asia, Dr. Andreas Schneider.

The representative of the largest bank in Germany, operating in Uzbekistan since 1993, informed that the bank has a targeted program of investment and promotion of developing countries. And recently, to the two previous areas of cooperation - health and sustainable development - a third was added: “Integrated urban development”. In this regard, representatives of the KfW bank are ready to assist in a specific area of the transformation of Tashkent.

Sharof Rakhmanov spoke about plans to transform the housing and communal services sector and urban transport, build affordable housing in Tashkent and create jobs.

Andreas Schneider, in turn, highly appreciated the ongoing and planned reforms and expressed his readiness to support any chosen direction, even in parallel with other partners. 

The parties agreed to continue the dialogue in order to select new promising areas for cooperation.
