Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy khokim of Namangan region for construction Saidakhmad Sultanov was detained on suspicion of exceeding and abusing official powers.

He is accused under articles 205 and 206 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan of abuse of power and exceeding official powers with causing especially large damage.

He is suspected of involvement in a case related to the illegal sale of land.

By court decision, Sultanov was taken into custody.
