Deputy Director of ISMI: “Establishing strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Hungary requires systemic information and analytical support”

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- One of the results of the negotiations between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI) and the Institute of International relations and trade at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (IMOT).

As the deputy director of ISMI Sanjar Valiev noted, speaking at the first Uzbek-Hungarian online conference of experts "Uzbekistan and Hungary: prospects for bilateral and interregional cooperation" analytical support of this process.

In this regard, research and analytical centers of the two countries are involved in the development and expansion of bilateral cooperation, filling it with new ideas and forming long-term plans for cooperation.

Being the leading research institutes, ISMI and IMOT, a few years ago, began to establish working contacts, communicating at the sites of various events. Now, with the signing of the Memorandum, new opportunities are opening up for building up mutual visits, expanding the exchange of experience and opinions in a wide range of areas. As a result of joint work, new initiatives for the development of cooperation will emerge.

Valiev expressed the opinion that following the talks between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, one can safely state that Budapest is turning into one of the most significant partners of Uzbekistan in the EU. While maintaining the planned dynamics of growth of trade and economic ties and investment cooperation, Hungary will become an equal player in our market with such large economies as Germany, France and Italy.

Taking into account these factors, it is not surprising that the leading research institutes of the parties intend to maintain a regular expert dialogue.

Ambassador of Hungary to Uzbekistan Peter Santo, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria with accreditation in Hungary Abat Fayzullaev, head of the Turkic Council in Hungary Janos Howari, took part in the event, organized by ISMI together with the leading Hungarian analytical center - Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade under the Hungarian Foreign Ministry, director of the Hungarian Institute of Foreign Affairs and Trade under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Marton Ugroshdi, as well as experts from the "think tanks" of the two countries.
