Deputies support bill on digitalization of the judicial enforcement system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has reviewed and approved, in its first reading, a bill aimed at digitalizing the enforcement of judicial decisions and acts of other authorities, as well as improving the efficiency of enforcement proceedings.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has undertaken significant reforms to enhance the judicial enforcement system. However, there remains a pressing need to reduce human intervention in the process, particularly in safeguarding citizens’ assets and financial resources essential for their subsistence.
The bill introduces several key innovations: establishing a minimum guaranteed income that cannot be seized for debt repayment, allowing the sale of seized debtor assets at a 30% discount from the initial price, and authorizing state enforcement officers to use mobile video surveillance when carrying out enforcement actions.
The adoption of this bill will minimize human influence in enforcement proceedings, increase transparency, and strengthen citizens’ legal protections.
