Deputies pass bill on digitalization of the pension assignment system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In its second reading, deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis conducted a clause-by-clause review of a bill aimed at further improving the provision of social services to the population.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has been gradually reforming its pension assignment system. The country has already introduced the practice of granting pensions based on a single identity document, eliminating the need for additional certificates. This was made possible through integration with the Ministry of Justice’s public service centers and the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services.
To further enhance the quality of public services and reduce human intervention, the bill envisions the active implementation of advanced digital technologies in the pension system. Notably, it proposes the proactive assignment of pensions to citizens upon reaching retirement age (60 for men and 55 for women), without requiring them to submit a personal application.
During the preparation of the document for the second reading, meetings and seminars were held to conduct a detailed analysis of all proposals made by deputies.
The adoption of this bill will ensure the continued digitalization of the pension system, making public services more accessible and convenient for citizens.
The bill has been approved in its third reading and sent to the Senate for further consideration.
