Deported migrants to be restricted from re-entry and obliged to return state support funds
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new procedure for regulating issues related to Uzbek citizens deported from abroad after being employed through organized recruitment programs has been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution from 13 May 2025. This was announced by the Agency for External Labor Migration.
The document addresses cases in which citizens, sent abroad as part of state programs, were deported from foreign countries due to violations of laws. Responsibility measures are being introduced for such individuals.
In particular, if the expenses for returning the violator to their home country were covered by the Agency’s funds, the individual will be required to reimburse the incurred costs. The return of subsidies and compensations previously provided from the Migration Fund will also be required.
Additionally, deported citizens will not be able to participate in new organized employment programs in developed countries for one year after their return.
The new regulations also include provisions in labor contracts regarding penalty sanctions and guarantee obligations of third parties in case of contract violations.
