Department of analysis of legislation in the field of justice to be created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On additional measures to further expand access to justice and improve the efficiency of courts" was adopted.

The decree approved a short-term strategy for raising the judicial system to a qualitatively new level for 2023–2026.

As part of the Strategy, one of the tasks of ensuring justice is the complete digitalization of the activities of courts, the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, the improvement of interdepartmental exchange of electronic data, and the expansion of opportunities for remote participation in court hearings.

According to the Decree, measures have been identified to develop effective mechanisms for preventing cases of contempt of court, strengthening measures of administrative responsibility for this and establishing criminal liability.

The following bodies (officials) are designated by the corps of specialized prosecutors to assist in the administration of justice:

- Department of the General Prosecutor’s Office to ensure the powers of the prosecutor when considering criminal, civil, economic, administrative cases in courts;

- the relevant departments and divisions of the prosecutor’s offices of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent to ensure the powers of the prosecutor when considering criminal, civil, economic, administrative cases in courts;

- relevant deputy and assistant prosecutors of districts (cities) in the above areas.

On the basis of the Department for the Analysis of Legislation in the Judicial-Legal Sphere, the Department for the Analysis of Legislation in the Sphere of Justice will be created.

Also, the Concept of Information Policy of the Judicial System for 2023-2026 will be developed.
