Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan Bahadir Kurbanov took part in the regular meeting of defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which was held in Delhi on 27-28 April, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the visit, a meeting was also held between the heads of the defense departments of Uzbekistan and India. Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh praised the current state of mutual cooperation in the military sphere and noted that there are still untapped opportunities for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
During the event, they discussed the joint implementation of various projects, in particular, the development of the Termez military hospital, equipping a computer laboratory class at the Academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan.
The organizational aspects of conducting short-term internships for Uzbek military doctors in specialized medical institutions in India were discussed.
The meeting participants drew attention to the prospects for organizing training courses in information and communication technologies, cybersecurity and other areas.
The parties exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
