Delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in ECO Foreign Ministers’ Council meeting in Dushanbe

On 17 April 2018, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdujabar Abduvakhitov took part in the 23rd meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
On the eve of the meeting, the Meeting of Senior Officials of ECO was held, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
During the meeting of the Ministerial Council, issues of regional cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, science and education were discussed, including within the framework of the implementation of the ECO Trade Agreement.
The sides adopted the Afghanistan Assistance Program and also discussed organizational issues, in particular the appointment of a new chapter and an updated ECO budget structure.
As a result of the event, the Dushanbe communique was adopted.
