Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 November 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev at the European Parliament building in Brussels took part in a briefing on the current situation in Afghanistan.

In his speech, Irgashev highlighted the main aspects of the policy pursued by Uzbekistan in relation to Afghanistan, the new authorities of the country, as well as the need to establish a constructive dialogue with them.

The main attention was paid to preventing the re-transformation of Afghanistan into a rogue state, a haven for international terrorists and a potential threat to the countries of the region and other states of the world.

The key emphasis was placed on the prompt provision of humanitarian aid to the country, more active involvement of Afghanistan in the process of regional interconnectedness and integration.

All forum participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Uzbekistan for its assistance in the evacuation of EU citizens from Afghanistan, as well as efforts to peacefully resolve the Afghan crisis.
