Delegation of Uzbekistan hold talks with Prime Minister of Bashkortostan
During the meeting, Rustem Mardanov said that cooperation with Uzbekistan is developing for long time and the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan will help to strengthen these relations.
Prime Minister said: “We hope to reach agreements, first of all, in the field of economic cooperation. Trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan is rated at US$68.6 million in 2016, but the potential is much higher.”
Uzbekistan supplies automobiles, textile industry, food products to Bashortostan and purchase oil and chemical products, metallurgy, machinery and timber products.
The sides agreed that there are all conditions to increase trade turnover between countries already this year.
Himmat Oqbutaev said that the visit of the delegation was organized on the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia, scheduled in April 2017.
He said that Uzbekistan pays great attention to development of inter-regional cooperation. He said that the country intends to expand supply of automobile and trucks, textile and leather-footwear, fruits and vegetables.
It was noted that Uzbekistan interested in pharmaceutical products, medical equipment, electronic equipment, rubber products from Bashkortostan.
The sides also expressed interest in realization of the joint projects, including oil products and agriculture goods, etc.
The sides also want to cooperate in healthcare, education, culture and tourism. The Uzbek side invited the Bashkortostan official to visit Uzbekistan.
During the talks, the officials also discussed cooperation in labour migration and protection of rights and social interests.
On the same day, the business circles of Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan held talks and held presentation of social economic development of Samarkand region and Bashkortostan, key sectors of economy.
