Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Health Abdukhakim Khadjibayev is in South Korea.
The delegation included Deputy Health Ministers Ulugbek Sabirov and Abdulla Azizov, Deputy Minister of Construction Nasrullah Babayev, Director of the Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry Sardor Kariev, Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology Mirzagolib Tillyashaikhov.
The purpose of the visit is to hold negotiations with South Korean partners to strengthen cooperation in the health sector, study the best practices of South Korea in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, as well as the design and construction of specialized oncological hospitals and centers.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Osong Medical Innovation Fund, which is implementing the Osong Bio-Valley pharmaceutical cluster project. During the meeting with the head of the Cha Sang Hoon Foundation, an exchange of views took place regarding the establishment of interaction between the pharmaceutical clusters "Tashkent Pharma Park" and "Osong Bio-Valley" for the exchange of experience and technology transfer, conducting joint research, training highly qualified personnel, introducing modern management methods. and the creation of industrial production, and further joint development.
During the visit, the South Korean side shared its experience in creating and organizing the activities of Training Centers in the field of biotechnology, new pharmaceuticals, production of biomedical drugs, medical equipment and laboratory animals. The heads of these centers provided detailed information on their work, including interaction with leading universities, pharmaceutical and research companies, as well as government agencies in South Korea.
Willingness was expressed to establish a close and long-term partnership with the Ministry of Health and the involved organizations of Uzbekistan.
As a result of the negotiations and discussions, an agreement was reached on the earliest possible elaboration of a bilateral document on cooperation, inviting specialists and managers from Uzbekistan to the Osong Medical Innovation Fund for advanced training and exchange of experience, as well as sending experts of the Fund to the Tashkent Pharma Park pharmaceutical cluster for adjusting the work of cluster subdivisions in the Tashkent region according to modern South Korean standards.
