Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Members of the US parliament were received by the khokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on the prospects for the development of cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and the United States.

The head of Samarkand region presented detailed information on the investment and tourism potential of the region, invited leading US companies in such areas as industry, mechanical engineering, agriculture and the tourism industry for cooperation.

The guests got acquainted with the architectural monuments and historical sights of Samarkand. 

American parliamentarians admired the artistic color of the architectural monuments of Samarkand.

Members of the Congress visited the Gur Emir Mausoleum, Ulugbek Observatory, Registan Square and Bibikhonim Madrasah.

The guests noted the great importance of preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the Uzbek people for future generations, as an integral part of the treasury of world civilization.
