Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 22-23 March 2021, a delegation of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic headed by Minister Major General of Militia Ulan Niyazbekov paid a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The visit of the Minister of Law Enforcement to Uzbekistan took place within the framework of the implementation of bilateral agreements following the state visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to Uzbekistan on 11-12 March 2021.
On 23 March, the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Republic hosted an official meeting of the Minister of Lieutenant General Pulat Bobojonov with his colleague.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of bilateral interdepartmental interaction, including the fight against crime, the search for persons hiding from the investigation and the court, cross-border cooperation, intensifying the exchange of professional experience, as well as other areas of mutual interest.
The Kyrgyz counterpart was familiarized in detail with the progress of reforms in the Interior affairs bodies, the productivity of introducing information technologies into the activities, as well as the results of work with the population in makhallas aimed at reducing crime and preventing violations.
In addition, at the meeting, the parties focused on the issues of updating the current legal framework for cooperation.
Following a constructive dialogue, the parties agreed to take a number of urgent, as well as systemic and long-term measures to implement cooperation at a qualitatively new level.
Further, during the visit, the Kyrgyz colleagues were familiarized with the activities of the Main Department of Interior Affairs of the city of Tashkent and the Main Directorate of Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Interior Affairs. The guests were shown the systems of organizing work to ensure public order and the safety of citizens, combating crime directly in makhallas, improving the activities of prevention inspectors in this direction, as well as an integrated road safety management system.
In addition, the delegation of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Kyrgyzstan plans to study the activities of the departments of Interior affairs of the Namangan and Fergana regions.
