Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation headed by Minister Mikhail Murashko arrived in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

The delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Health, as well as the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov" Sergei Gauthier and the rector of the Federal State Autonomous Educational Institution of Higher Education" Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov” Sergei Lukyanov.

Bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are characterized by regular meetings at the highest and highest levels. In particular, in April 2017, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a state visit to Russia. During the talks at the highest level, issues of the development of bilateral relations were discussed, an exchange of views took place on a number of topical international and regional topics. During the visit, a package of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and corporate documents was signed. In October 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin paid a state visit to Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the visit of the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Abdukhakim Khadzhibaev in March this year to the Russian Federation served to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas of health care. Significant progress has been made in the area of transplantation. Within the framework of the signed cooperation agreements, medical specialists of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Surgery named after Academician V. Vakhidov and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation have already begun training at the National Medical Research Center for Transplantology and Artificial Organs named after Academician V.I. Shumakov of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Health of Russia is being made in order to continue the productive implementation of agreements on topical areas of healthcare.

During the visit, high-level meetings, visits to the leading medical institutions of our country, as well as the Chilanzar Medical College in preparation for the opening of the branch of the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov are planned.

Following the visit, it is planned to sign an agreement between the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov and the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
