Delegation of Saint Petersburg arrives in Uzbekistan
During the meeting, the parties discussed establishment of Russian migration center in Samarkand on organized recruitment of citizens of Uzbekistan to carry out work in Russia, organization of comprehensive examination in the territory of Uzbekistan and speeding up implementation of the Agreement on organized recruitment and involvement of citizens of Uzbekistan for temporary labor on the territory of the Russian Federation, the press service of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations said.
At the meeting, the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations stressed that newly created center should have all necessary conditions for obtaining necessary documents by labor migrants.
In turn, the chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment of St. Petersburg Dmitry Cherneyko said that Uzbekistan should create opportunities for testing, integrated training of labour migrants.
Both sides expressed confidence that the agreement between the Governments of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation on organized recruitment and involvement of the citizens of Uzbekistan for temporary work in the territory of the Russian Federation will introduce modern mechanisms and standards for testing for knowledge of Russian language, obtaining medical insurance. It was noted that this will serve as the legalization of migrant workers and improve the situation with the provision of habitation in accordance with the required health and hygiene standards, provide safe working conditions and occupational safety to labour migrants.
This agreement will also create conditions for receiving guaranteed labor remuneration, provide an opportunity to establish a civilized process of labor migration between Russia and Uzbekistan, serve the interests of citizens of both countries, protect the rights and freedoms of labor migrants, guarantee their social and economic rights and prevent illegal migration that is the soil for the existence of human trafficking.
The delegation of St. Petersburg Government will hold meetings in the ministries and departments of Uzbekistan, as well as visit Bukhara and Samarkand region. The Russian delegation will also study existing conditions to accelerate creation of the Center for Pre-departure training in Samarkand.
