Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As previously reported, today, on 20 November, the ninth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan is being held.

The plenary session is expected to discuss a number of topical issues.

In her opening remarks, the Chairperson of the Upper House of Parliament Tanzila Narbaeva focused on the work being carried out in our country today, in particular, the consistent continuation of systemic reforms launched in the social, economic, political and cultural spheres.

 “The recent Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on measures for the development of education and science at a new stage of development of Uzbekistan in a broad sense laid the foundation for the Third Renaissance,” said the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva. - New milestones for the development of regions are outlined.

Undoubtedly, the recent presidential decree on measures for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for the next three years will serve the development of Karakalpakstan. In particular, the decree provides for the allocation of more than 21 trillion. soums to improve the living standards of the region’s population, develop the economy, social sphere and infrastructure of the republic, improve the environmental situation, which is a historic event for Karakalpakstan.

In addition, the recently identified tasks to increase the socio-economic potential of the Kashkadarya region, to ensure the growth of the well-being of the region’s population will soon begin to give practical results.

The head of our state, regardless of the development of which sphere, industry or region he focuses on, certainly, calls on the people’s representatives - deputies and senators to be active and expresses great confidence in us. In particular, the fact that the Senate is directly entrusted with establishing strict parliamentary control over the timely and effective implementation of large-scale creative work in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, which indicates a high level of trust in the representatives of the people and requires us to be very responsible.

In this sense, not only senators of Karakalpakstan, but also all senators on the ground should live with a sense of ownership of the development of their territory, completely abandon old methods of work and ignoring problems and boldly promote new ideas and initiatives.
