Death rate on roads makes 11.32 persons per 100,000 population
The event was organized by the project the framework of the project "TRACECA - Road Safety II", which is implemented in cooperation with the European Union, Jahon news agency repored.
Serbian expert Dejan Jovanov said that Uzbekistan has the lowest figure on number of deaths on roads in the region, which makes up 11.32 persons per 100,000 population. He noted that the figure stands at 3 persons per 100,000 in Sweden, which shows that Uzbekistan has potential to decrease death rate on roads.
The losses from the road accidents to GDP of Uzbekistan make up 2.8%, which is also the lowest figure among the participating member states of the project. However, the sum is huge and it is necessary to decrease it, expert said.
