Days of Kazakh Medicine Begin in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Days of Kazakh Medicine have officially begun in four regions of Uzbekistan, marking a new stage in strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare.

In recent years, medical collaboration between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan has reached a new level. A joint action plan for 2025–2026 has been developed, outlining a broad range of initiatives aimed at deepening bilateral ties.

Specialized scientific and practical medical centers in Uzbekistan have established active exchanges with leading clinics in Kazakhstan. Medical universities of the two countries are carrying out academic exchanges involving both faculty and students, conducting joint research projects, workshops, and demonstration surgeries, as well as organizing professional training programs to enhance the skills of healthcare specialists.

This week’s events are taking place in medical institutions across the Samarkand, Bukhara, and Fergana regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

About 100 highly qualified specialists from Kazakhstan are participating in the initiative. Over the next four days, they will provide medical consultations and conduct workshops and surgical procedures in fields such as cardiology, neurosurgery, traumatology, urology, oncology, gynecology, pediatric surgery, endocrinology, and other disciplines.

Joint high-tech surgeries in cardiology, oncology, traumatology, and phthisiology are also planned at the National Medical Center and several regional specialized hospitals.

In addition, representatives from seven Kazakh universities will organize a scientific Olympiad and sports competitions for students of Tashkent State Medical University. The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has brought four mobile medical units, which will provide primary health check-ups for residents of the Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions.

The closing event will take place on 17 October in Tashkent as part of the forum “Uzbekistan – Kazakhstan: Cooperation for Public Health Improvement,” where participants will discuss future prospects for bilateral cooperation in the healthcare sector.
