Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the plenary session of the Senate, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the establishment of the Day of employees of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was discussed.

It should be noted that today the countries of the world are facing the threat of terrorism, religious extremism, transnational crime and drug trafficking. According to the head of state, security cannot be divided, therefore, the negative processes occurring in the world, the remaining complex military-political situation in neighboring Afghanistan require an increase in the efficiency of the country's security system.

In this regard, the role of the State Security Service in ensuring a peaceful, calm life and security of the population of our country is invaluable.

This law stipulates the establishment of 26 September  as the Day of employees of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A study of the current regulatory legal acts shows that the history of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan actually dates back to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 26 September 1991 No. UP-265.

It should be noted that on the initiative of President Sh. Mirziyoyev, on 5 April 2018, the Law "On the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted. The document created a solid legal basis for the activities of the Service, identified the necessary organizational and legal mechanisms. Thanks to this, a transparent body protecting the interests of the state and the people has been created, in line with the policy of the President of the country to democratize the system of state power and administration.

Therefore, by the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the establishment of the Day of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan" from 2 October 2018, 5 April was established as a professional holiday of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Today, the celebration of April 5 as the Day of the State Security Service (the 30th anniversary of the Service) causes contradictions when taking into account the activities of state security agencies, since over the past years (2006, 2011 and 2016) foreign partners of the State Security Service were invited to the solemn anniversaries of the Service. commemorative signs were awarded.

Therefore, it is logical that after the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 26 September, the 30th anniversary of the State Security Service should be celebrated.

As a result of the adoption of this Law, the Law "On the Establishment of the Day of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan", adopted on 2 October 2018, will become invalid, and 26 September will be celebrated in our country as the Day of State Security Bodies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Approval of this Law will increase the moral and psychological attitude of the State Security Service employees, further enhance the sense of pride in the Service, preserve the traditions of Ustoz-Shogird among generations, show respect and honor to the Service veterans, as well as strengthen the image of state security agencies among foreign partners ...

On this basis, the members of the Senate approved this Law.
