Date of the next plenary meeting of the Senate set

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 June 2021, a meeting of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva.

At the meeting, it was decided to convene the sixteenth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 25 June 2021.

At the plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconference, it is planned to consider a number of issues. Among them are issues of improving the activities of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of ensuring openness and transparency in state bodies, the creation of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on information policy and ensuring openness in state bodies.

In addition, it is envisaged to discuss the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On official statistics”, “On freedom of conscience and religious organizations”, “On courts”, “On the state language of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On the State budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021”, “On making amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further improvement of the procedure for combating the legalization of proceeds from criminal activity.”

At the same time, it is planned to consider the issue of changing the borders of the Akkurgan, Akhangaran, Bekabad, Bostanlyk, Buka, Zangiata, Yukorichirchik, Kibray, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yangiyul districts and the cities of Almalyk, Chirchik, Angrenok, Yangiyul.

In addition, it is planned to discuss the issue of sending parliamentary requests to the Cabinet of Ministers on measures taken to develop the sphere of blood donation, the impact on the environment and public health of the shortcomings arising at sewage treatment plants in the republic.

It is also envisaged to consider the results of a parliamentary request sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the work carried out to achieve the goals of creating infrastructure, promoting industrialization and innovations provided for in the National Goals and Objectives in the field of sustainable development for the period until 2030 and other issues.

In addition, it is envisaged to consider the results of a study conducted by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Republican Commission for the systemic solution of women’s problems regarding the situation in makhallas, protecting the rights and interests of women, supporting entrepreneurship, ensuring employment of the population, improving family relations and implementing planned measures in this area.
