“Cyber Day” by Motorica in Tashkent: New steps toward an inclusive future

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Motorica, a company specializing in the development and production of robotic prosthetics, organized its first-ever Cyber Day in Tashkent — a significant inclusive event supported by the Republican Center for the Social Adaptation of Children (RCSAC), Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan, and ORTOSTAN RU.

During the event, several memoranda of cooperation were signed between organizations actively working to promote an inclusive environment in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, three children from Uzbekistan received prosthetic devices. These high-tech pediatric prosthetics, developed by Motorica, were funded by Russian philanthropists and charitable foundations “Vse Vse Vmeste” and “Dom Dobroty.” As part of the initiative, two forearm prosthetics and one wrist prosthetic were provided.

The Cyber Day program featured several key activities, including a product and technology showcase, an engaging animation program for children, roundtable discussions on the future of social protection and inclusion, and a session where Motorica ambassador Vladimir Baldin met with children with special needs.

“We are actively drawing the attention of government agencies to the need for simplifying access to high-tech devices for people with disabilities. From our users’ experiences, we see how prosthetics significantly improve quality of life. We are grateful to the Association of People with Disabilities of Uzbekistan, the Republican Center for the Social Adaptation of Children, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation, the National Human Rights Center, the Ministry of Health, the Paralympic Committee, and ORTOSTAN RU for their support and commitment to inclusive development,”
— stated Valeria Chemikos, Head of CIS Sales at Motorica.

In 2025, the company plans to expand cooperation with relevant organizations in Uzbekistan and actively contribute to building a system to provide people with disabilities with modern rehabilitation equipment. A crucial step will be the adoption of the Presidential Decree “On Measures to Improve the System of Providing Prosthetic and Orthopedic Devices and Rehabilitation Aids to Those in Need” as well as the development of the national Social Protection Strategy. Motorica has already submitted the required documents to the Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to include its products in the official list of rehabilitation aids.

By 2030, it is expected that the country’s need for modern prosthetic and orthopedic devices will be fully met. Motorica is the world’s only company that successfully provides functional prosthetics to children as young as two years old. To date, the company has provided prosthetics to 19 users in Uzbekistan — 15 of whom are children. Motorica is actively developing its partnership with ORTOSTAN RU, which has operated in Uzbekistan for over 8 years. ORTOSTAN’s prosthetists have been trained and certified by Motorica.

In addition, Motorica is running projects across the CIS, India, and Vietnam, actively participating in scientific research and working to make its technologies accessible to families in Uzbekistan. For children, prosthetics become not just a medical necessity but an exciting experience: they can choose a unique cyber-arm decorated with their favorite character, select from 35 color options, and pick between glossy or matte finishes.
