Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A woman was caught attempting to smuggle jewelry across the border at the “Navoi” customs checkpoint, according to the press service of the Tashkent Regional Customs Department.

Customs officers became suspicious due to the woman's unusual behavior as she was crossing the border on foot. A personal search revealed gold jewelry hidden in her intimate area, with a total weight of 1,013 grams.

Preliminary estimates place the value of the confiscated jewelry at 1.1 billion Uzbek soums. Relevant legal procedures are currently underway.
