Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the need to gradually reduce customs duties on the import of cars to zero.

The head of Uzbekistan noted that gradually customs duties should be brought to zero. He said there had to be competition to keep the cars cheap and of good quality.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that buyers should not wait for a car for a year, despite prepayment.

“It is unfair that our ordinary hardworking citizen gives away his hard-earned money to turn over the auto industry for one year,” he said.

The President of Uzbekistan instructed to develop a draft resolution on reducing the rates of customs duties on car imports by 2 times - from 30% to 15%.
