Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 September 2020, an online meeting was held on the joint activities of members of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, the Commission on Ensuring Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Commission on Gender Equality of the Youth Parliament under Senate.

It was noted that in our country priority attention is paid to the issues of comprehensive support for women, ensuring gender equality. Using the potential of active youth in solving current problems in this area, taking into account their ideas and proposals will give the expected result. In this regard, during the meeting, the joint tasks of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, the Commission on Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Youth Parliament to ensure the employment of women and increase their social and political activity were discussed.

At the same time, proposals were made regarding the maximum use of the capabilities of the Youth Parliament Commission on Gender Equality. It was noted the need to pay special attention to the development of a joint plan by the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality in conjunction with the Youth Parliament Commission on Gender Equality, carrying out advocacy, increasing legal literacy of youth on gender equality.

In addition, the necessary measures have been identified to develop entrepreneurship among women, inform them about training opportunities in modern professions, and organize online trainings on gender equality.

Members of the Youth Parliament Commission on Gender Equality also agreed to organize meetings at the end of each week dedicated to progress reports.
