Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekneftegaz held a meeting with a delegation of experts from the Energy Charter Secretariat.

According to the Department of Prospective Business Development of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, within the framework of the meeting, issues of energy efficiency management and development of the energy management system were discussed.

The Charter experts noted that an in-depth review of Uzbekistan’s policy in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving is currently being developed.

Foreign guests shared the world’s best practices to stimulate the transition to energy-saving technologies in various countries and industries. 

It is noted that in most European countries, direct incentives have been introduced into practice for socially vulnerable segments of the population in the form of subsidies and benefits for paying for housing and communal services, provided that their share in citizens’ expenses exceeds certain established standards.

Other forms of support are various benefits and preferences in the field of the use of renewable energy sources, the application of urban planning norms and rules in terms of the use of energy efficient and energy saving technologies, and other tools.

Taking into account the environmental aspects of the products, the parties discussed the plans of Uzbekneftegaz to modernize factories and increase the depth of hydrocarbon processing.

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement to establish further cooperation in the area of energy efficiency.
