Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 22 June, a meeting was held at the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent on the participation of the capital in the implementation of investment projects in the region in the field of ecology.

Aidar Kazybayev, Managing Director of the Astana International Financial Center Administration, participated on behalf of the Green Finance Center. The guest was greeted by the team of the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent under the leadership of the first deputy khokim Khotambek Shakirov.

Both sides noted the concern about possible risks in the environmental field and the intention to participate in environmental, social, energy and investment projects aimed at reducing the impact of climate change.

Aydar Kazybayev informed about various opportunities for cooperation, for example, about the issue of "green bonds", which can attract investors. In turn, Khotambek Shakirov noted the city’s interest in investing in this area, suggesting, together with the housing and communal services complex and State Unitary Enterprise “Makhsustrans”, to choose the most promising projects for “green investment”.

The parties agreed to continue working contacts to identify specific promising projects and forms of cooperation between the Tashkent city administration and the Green Finance Center.

The Center for Green Finance is an institution for the development of a system of investment activities in the field of sustainable development; it helps municipalities and other state bodies in attracting extra-budgetary funds for sustainable development projects.
