Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 July, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Burkhanov held an online meeting with the heads of two Japanese higher education institutions - Nagoya University President Sugiyama Naoshi and Head of the Tokai National Network of Higher Educational and Research Institutions Matsuo Seiichi. This was reported by the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency.
The Japanese side recognized the relevance of the anti-corruption reforms being carried out by Uzbekistan and announced the mutual benefit for our countries of developing relations with the Agency, as well as deepening cooperation in the field of education and scientific research in this direction.
Then the dialogue continued with the leadership of the Asian Legal Exchange Center. The parties exchanged views on the issues of training employees in the field of combating corruption, the implementation of joint research projects, the exchange of experience and information.
During the virtual meeting, the director of the Agency, Akmal Burkhanov, proposed holding seminars and trainings on combating corruption and improving the knowledge of civil servants with the involvement of experts and professors from Japanese universities. He also proposed to improve the qualifications of civil servants by organizing short-term courses in Japan.
Representatives of the Asian Legal Exchange Center said they were ready to support such important proposals and initiatives.
