Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan held negotiations in the format of a video conference with the leadership of Aichi University: Vice President for International Affairs Hiroshi Nakao, Chairmen of the International Education Committee Satoru Abe, International Exchange Committee Nobuko Shimizu, Director of the International Department Masato Hori and Director of the International Exchange Office Akio Takakuva.
Aichi University is a private university founded in 1946. It consists of seven faculties, six postgraduate departments and a law school. The number of students is about 10 thousand, of which 251 are foreigners.
It maintains partnerships with 45 universities around the world, including universities in China (20), Taiwan (4), America (4), France, Great Britain and Germany (2 each), countries of Southeast Asia, etc.
The university specializes in the humanities: jurisprudence, economics (business administration, accounting, finance), international communications. The university has developed Sinology and the study of regional politics. The Chubu Industrial Research Institute, which is part of it, is engaged in research on the problems of economic development in the region. The publications of the center are highly valued among the scientific and business community of the country.
As an initial step, the Japanese side noted the possibility of organizing student exchanges. The interlocutors said that the Japanese university is interested in sending its students to Uzbek universities, where the education is in English. In addition, Professor N. Shimizu, a specialist in the Russian language, stated that she is interested in sending her students to study the Russian language.
An agreement was reached to identify Uzbek educational and research organizations interested in cooperation with Aichi University, agree on a list of specific disciplines or areas of cooperation, as well as establish direct contacts between universities for substantive discussion of bilateral cooperation.
