Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 February, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Dilshod Akhatov met with the Minister of State for Youth and Sports of India, Kiren Rijiju.

At the meeting, the State Minister of India was informed about the youth policy pursued in Uzbekistan, education based on modern programs, youth employment and the development of entrepreneurship, as well as the activities of the Agency for Youth Affairs, established in June 2020.

Opportunities were explored for developing cooperation in the field of youth, organizing joint events, in particular, organizing an Uzbek-Indian youth festival with an emphasis on ICT and startups.

The Minister of State of India praised the state policy towards youth in Uzbekistan, noting that the announcement of 2021 as the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population is a clear evidence of the high attention paid to this area.

An agreement was reached to prepare and sign a memorandum of cooperation between the Agency for Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in order to create a legal basis for cooperation in this area.
