Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 April this year, negotiations were held in an expanded format between the heads of government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus. The negotiations were conducted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.
During the meeting, the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov informed about the work carried out between Uzbekistan and Belarus in the field of science and technology. The minister noted that 15 projects implemented within the framework of Uzbek-Belarusian joint scientific projects have been completed and are currently being prepared for commercialization. In addition, 30 scientific projects were funded in the amount of US$2 million. Over the past three years, 200 young scientists and researchers have completed scientific internships at Belarusian research institutes.
As part of the negotiations, a memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as a program of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation for 2022-2023. The documents were signed by Deputy Minister of Innovative Development Shakhlo Turdikulova, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Belarus Sergei Chizhik and Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Science and Technology of Belarus Sergei Shcherbakov.
As part of the program of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation between the two countries, the parties agreed to continue to support joint scientific projects, organize scientific events, improve the qualifications of scientists, develop scientific infrastructure and technology transfer. The memorandum with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus provides for the expansion of cooperation between the scientific communities of the two countries in various forms, the exchange of scientists and researchers, the exchange of scientific information, and the development of joint publishing activities.
It should be noted that within the framework of scientific cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus, two joint research laboratories have been established on the basis of the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers and the Tashkent Technical University. Dozens of Uzbek scientists are conducting research at the institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
In addition, cooperation has been established between the innovation technopark "Yashnabad" under the Ministry of Innovative Development and the Polytechnic Technopark of the National Technical University of Belarus, which provides for the development of joint start-up projects.
