Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan between the Ambassador of Canada to Uzbekistan, Ms. Alison LeClair, and Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Alisher Shukurov.

The parties discussed the prospects for intensifying cooperation between the two countries in the field of agriculture, food processing, education and scientific research in the agricultural sector.

During the meeting, measures taken in Uzbekistan to modernize agriculture, as well as existing investment opportunities, were presented.

Priority areas for cooperation are animal husbandry, grain growing, potato growing, fisheries, agroecology and the introduction of resource-saving technologies.

The parties also agreed to organize mutual visits with the participation of representatives of the academic, scientific and business circles of the two countries to establish practical cooperation in agriculture.
