Cooperation in healthcare sphere discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 October, in the khokimiyat of Tashkent, the deputy khokim of the capital Durdona Rakhimova, with the participation of the head and employees of the Tashkent Main Health Department, met with the Vice Governor of St. Petersburg (Russia) Oleg Ergashev. This was reported by the press service of the capital khokimyat.

After a mutual exchange of greetings, Durdona Rakhimova briefly spoke about the reforms in the areas of healthcare and social support for the population, in particular, about the work within the framework of the “iron”, “women's” and “youth” notebooks, noting the close attention paid to these categories of citizens.

Oleg Ergashev thanked for the reception, spoke about his impressions of his first visit to Uzbekistan, and said that the Northern capital of the Russian Federation is actively developing the pharmaceutical cluster, as well as the production of medical equipment and devices, while separately noting the interest of the heads of specialized enterprises in cooperation in the field of medicine, science and sports.

Anvar Alimov, the head of the Main Department of Health of Tashkent, informed the guests about the implementation of targeted national programs initiated by the head of state aimed at strengthening the reproductive health of the population and protecting the health of mother and child. Anvar Alimov spoke in detail about the medical, preventive and scientific activities in the healthcare institutions of the capital, as well as the work of the republican and regional screening centers that conduct research to identify hereditary and congenital diseases in the fetus.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue at a more concrete level during the visit of St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov early next month.
