Consumer sentiment of Uzbeks continued to improve in September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The results of this survey play the role of an economic barometer to determine consumer sentiment of the population and predict trends for further development.

The Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) announced the results of a monthly survey of the population to form a picture of consumer sentiment (Consumer Sentiment Index). More than 3,500 people from all over the republic took part in the poll conducted in September.

The consumer sentiment index was calculated based on an internationally recognized methodology.

The Consumer Sentiment Index is a measure of consumer confidence that is measured and published every month. Consumer sentiment determines how much consumers are willing to increase / decrease consumption.

The index ranges from 0 to 200, if its value is above 100, this indicates high optimistic expectations of the population.

The survey results showed that in September the Consumer Sentiment Index was 90 points (in August 87 points). This is the highest rate compared to the previous 5 months.

It should be noted that this indicator in September in the US was 79 points, in the UK - 75 points, in Russia - 89 points. In August, the Consumer Sentiment Index in Ukraine reached 68, in Turkey - 82, in South Korea - 79.

The optimistic sentiment was observed regarding the future overall consumer expectations, reaching 109 points, an increase of 1 point over the previous month.
