Construction Company Fined in Uzbekistan for Illegal Advertising of Residential Complex
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A construction company in Uzbekistan has been fined for violating advertising laws.
According to the Regulation on the Construction of Multi-Apartment Buildings Based on Equity Participation, approved by Presidential Decree No. PQ-4732 on May 27, 2020, developers are prohibited from advertising construction projects without being registered in the electronic registry of companies soliciting funds from citizens through equity participation.
To enforce this requirement, the Competition Development Committee conducted a review.
The investigation revealed that the company, LLC “Glamur Gold,” had construction projects that were not included in the electronic registry, yet the residential complex was being advertised on social media.
Under Article 16 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Advertising,” it is prohibited to advertise products whose production or sale is forbidden by law, as well as products lacking the necessary certificates, licenses, mandatory certification documents, or special permits for production or sale.
Following consideration of the case, the Committee’s Special Commission found LLC “Glamur Gold” in violation of the law and imposed a financial penalty in accordance with established procedures.
Additionally, the developer received an official order to cease the identified violation and prevent similar cases in the future.
