Condor Energies Launches Drilling Program in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Calgary-based Condor Energies Inc. has commenced a program to drill multiple wells in Uzbekistan.

The first well is being drilled vertically to a depth of approximately 3,000 meters to study and assess existing productive carbonate horizons, as well as deeper, underexplored layered sedimentary reservoirs and basalt formations.

According to the company, drilling of the first well and detailed evaluation of its data is expected to be completed by October 2025.

These results will be used to design subsequent horizontal wells, each of which, according to internal estimates, could produce 13–20 million cubic feet of gas per day. The cost of drilling and completing a single well is approximately US$4.2 million, with a drilling timeline of 40–45 days.

The upcoming horizontal drilling program includes 12 wells, with average drilling and completion costs of US$3.3 million per well. The first horizontal well will have a planned horizontal section of 1,000 meters, which may be extended in subsequent wells depending on reservoir characteristics.

Condor continues the interpretation and integration of newly reprocessed 3D seismic data over an area of 1,462 sq. km and 3D seismic inversion attributes over 142 sq. km. These efforts have expanded the company’s portfolio to 18 prospective targets — unexplored gas accumulations in productive structures and newly identified formations, potentially extending the drilling program beyond 2026. The possibility of deploying a second drilling rig is under consideration.

Additionally, engineering studies are underway in Uzbekistan to install compression at the field to manage rising pipeline pressures. The compression system is expected to be operational in 2026, which, according to internal estimates, could increase baseline production by 25–55%.

Average daily production in Uzbekistan for Q3 2025, as of September 7, stood at 10,284 barrels of oil equivalent per day, consistent with Q2 levels (10,258 barrels per day).
