Condor Energies Completes Drilling of Its First Well in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Canadian company Condor Energies Inc. has announced the completion of drilling the vertical section of its first exploration well in Uzbekistan to a total depth of 2,805 meters.
The well was drilled to assess the potential of carbonate and deeper clastic formations. According to the company, 28.5 meters of gas-bearing intervals were identified in the carbonate layers and 9.1 meters in the clastic ones.
Based on the results, Condor plans to drill a 1,000-meter horizontal section, which may be extended under favorable conditions, potentially becoming the longest horizontal well section ever drilled in Uzbekistan.
Completion of drilling and testing of the horizontal section is expected in November 2025. According to Condor’s estimates, the potential production rate of the new well may reach 13–20 million cubic feet of gas per day, equivalent to approximately 368,000–566,000 cubic meters per day.
The company is also preparing a second drilling rig to develop another field in southern Uzbekistan.
Following recent perforation operations at this site, production increased from 1.1 to 7.5 million cubic feet of gas per day (around 31,000–212,000 cubic meters).
According to Condor Energies President Don Streu, the initial results confirm the presence of significant gas resources and pave the way for expanding the company’s drilling program.
In 2026, the company plans to launch a multi-well program that will include up to five horizontal wells.
