Concessional loans will be allocated for the development of horticulture

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On measures for state support of the fruit and vegetable industry, further development of the clustering and cooperation system in the industry” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, from 1 January 2022:

- farms, dekhkan farms and other producers of products - for the cultivation of fruits, grapes, vegetables, potatoes, melons, herbs and medicinal plants, legumes and oilseeds - a loan is provided for a period of up to 50 months at a rate of 14% per annum, for a period of up to 12 months, with 6 month grace period;

- processors, custodians and exporters of fruits and vegetables are provided with a 12-month "revolving" loan at a rate of 14% per annum to replenish the working capital necessary for the purchase of grown agricultural products.

To finance these events, the fund will be allocated 2 trillion soums of budget loans.

From 1 March 2022:

- fruit and vegetable clusters (cooperatives) and farms are covered - if there is an export contract and 50% of the paid insurance premium, when using the services of insuring the harvest of fruit and vegetable crops, but not more than 1% of the insured amount;

- fruit and vegetable clusters (cooperatives) are compensated through the regional departments of the Ministry of Agriculture - 50% of the costs of attracting qualified agronomists, entomologists, laboratory specialists from abroad, but no more than the equivalent of 1 thousand US dollars per 1 specialist per month.
