Competition Committee Stops Copying of “TD Grass” Brands in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Competition Committee has identified a trademark violation by the local company Hamkor Nur Biznes, which infringed on the rights of the Russian manufacturer of automotive and household chemicals, “TD Grass,” the agency’s press service reported.
According to the committee, Hamkor Nur Biznes produced cleaning and washing products under the names Universal Cleaner, Clean Glass, and Arena, identical to the TD Grass brands. The local producer also used the marks Aze-1, Aze-2, Aze-3, and Gaz-elit, similar to the Russian Azelit brand, as well as Gel Milena, reminiscent of Milana.
A case was initiated against Hamkor Nur Biznes for violation of the Law on Competition. The company was fined and ordered to eliminate the infringements and prevent them from occurring in the future.
It is noted that in 2018, TD Grass had already filed a complaint with the committee regarding intellectual property violations by Hamkor Nur Biznes. At that time, it was also established that the local firm’s product names and label designs copied Russian trademarks.
