Competition Committee Identifies Violations in Cement Sales in Surkhandarya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Territorial Department of the Competition Committee in Surkhandarya Region has identified cases in which LLC SURXANCEMENTINVEST sold highly liquid cement through direct contracts, bypassing exchange trading, during the period from January to August 2025.

These actions violate Article 29 of the Law “On Competition,” which prohibits the sale of highly liquid and/or monopoly goods exclusively through direct contracts, circumventing exchange trades.

Following the investigation, a case has been initiated against the company, corrective measures have been applied, and recommendations have been issued to eliminate the violations and prevent similar actions in the future.

The Committee noted that daily and monthly monitoring of exchange operations continues to prevent artificial price increases and restrictions on competition.
